Rugby League 2: World Cup Edition Announced

Now that the 13th Rugby League World Cup is nearing release, its developer Sidhe Interactive has worked with Home Entertainment Suppliers (HES) to release an updated version of its 2005 iteration, which is Rugby League 2: World Cup Edition set for release on the PS2.

Expect the jersey and roster updates for NRL, along with the international teams and Super League. But aside from that, there are 5 more stadiums that will serve as playable venues. Plus, there's also an in-game cutscenes where players can taunt each other, celebrate, and many other featured animations, just to spice up the game.

HES' business development manager, David Fobles, said via a press release: “By working with Sidhe to deliver a new version of the game with updated features and rosters, we're giving the fans what they want on the platform they want it most.”

Rugby League 2: World Cup Edition will not appear on the Xbox 360, and it won't have an online play feature for the PS2 either. Look out for Rugby League 2: World Cup Edition to be released in Australia, New Zealand, and the UK this November.
